TNA Wrestling has been in the news a lot lately. Sadly for them, it was for all the wrong reasons. They made headlines last week when they sent out what many fans are calling a very bitter statement regarding their failed attempt to sign AJ Styles, Ken Anderson, and Doc Gallows. They spoke about how the NJPW wrestlers were close to signing, and even signed letters of intent, but chose to go with the WWE offer instead.

AJ Styles’ deal with WWE is said to be quite high. Journalist Mark Madden claims that he has a $500,000 downside, which is an insane amount of money to spend on someone if you don’t believe in them. It is expected that he will be a big part of WWE programming as soon as WWE can properly introduce him to the WWE fans, who may not know who he is. Clearly, the Florida crowds do, and were chanting his name a lot at both the Royal Rumble and WWE RAW this past week.

Losing AJ Styles to NJPW was already a blow to TNA, but losing him to WWE simply put them over the edge and made them go on a random tangent publicly. This was why when Dixie Carter claimed on Tuesday that she signed Jeff Hardy to a new TNA contract, it was a major win for the company. There had been rumors of Hardy going to WWE, but of course that was sort of squashed when he decided to stay.

However, there is a lot more to it than Hardy just deciding to stay. He is currently hurt and cannot really wrestle due to this. While his brother, Matt Hardy, is enjoying a nice reign at the top of TNA as the current World Champion there, Jeff Hardy is on the mend. His contract with TNA was set to come up very soon, as was Matt’s. It was doubtful either man would stay when their deals came up because of the WWE interest. However, with Jeff being hurt, it ruined the idea of this for them.

It is believed Matt and Jeff Hardy will stay in TNA at least until Jeff gets better and makes his comeback to the ring.

According to Cageside Seats, Jeff is still hoping to return to WWE in the future, despite re-signing with TNA.

The thought is, he might as well get paid to be injured. WWE could not use him the way he is now, and he knows this just as much as anyone. With all of this being said, Jeff Hardy most likely signed a 6 month to one year deal with TNA, which would allow him to get better and make his return to the ring under the TNA banner.

He needs to get back in ring shape, so it is better to do this on a light schedule and then go forth with the WWE plan rather than risk going to WWE when you have yet to really get back in the ring to test how you will be.

Jeff Hardy works a crash-and-burn type of high-flying style. Because of this, he can be reckless in the ring, and eventually it could cost him. Before 2015, it seemed Hardy did not know what it was like to be injured and out for a long time, and that was really due to his dirt bike wreck. His ring work had never been an issue, which is surprising to see.

It is expected that Jeff Hardy will be out for at least the next number of months from the ring, but by the summer it is thought that he will be back in the ring ready to wrestle again. We will have to see what happens. WWE clearly wants him back, but TNA wants to keep him. Maybe TNA will go on another bitter rampage if they lose him, who knows?
