WWE star AJ Styles spoke with Brian Fritz of Between the Ropes during WrestleMania media day, and the following are some highlights. You can watch the full interview in the video below:

On whether or not he actually had a contract in place with TNA before he signed with WWE:

“I had signed a letter of intent. I agreed to ‘this is what you said you were going to pay me, so you can send it to legal,’ there was no contract whatsoever involved. What we signed was nothing. It was not a contract in any shape or form.”

On TNA’s public statement released after Styles left:

“I thought they did a great job of making themselves look like crap by putting out that statement. Just let it go. Things didn’t work out. From what I’m hearing, man did I make a great decision coming here. I’m not shameful of what I’ve done in the past with another company, but I’m disappointed.”

Nothing would change. Just because less then 1 million people watch TNA doesn't mean 1 million people know TNA. I assume many millions are familiar with TNA. Adding money won't help, at least the workers would get paid though. TNA has a identity problem. They tried to be WCW for awhile it didn't work. Brought in old WWE/WCW talent such as Bischoff and Hogan who thought somehow it would work.

The moment the world realizes Hogan is good at ruining WWE competition the better. TNA was doing decent until they arrived and left. Drained Dixie of money and ruined what TNA had going. Copying WCW isn't the answer. TNA should find their core. WWE is so successful because of it being a first. It changed pro wrestling for the better. Sure you might hate it but look at what wrestling was before Vince took a chance.

TNA could sure use more wrasslin money. But fancy lipstick on a pig changes nothing. They say 6 sided rings are stiff, but it still makes it different. 6 sided is TNA at core. NXT is somehow more loved then TNA. People enjoy it and new talent look forward to it. Its sad when "monday night wars" is TNA vs NXT. Its all about running it right. Reason NXT is working is because of HHH. Dixie and her friends are why TNA isn't working.

TNA is on channel.... WHAT channel is it now? So many changes so short time. Spike was a good platform for it. Sadly Spike has no UFC or TNA. Still have Cops though. Best bet would be on a bigger network but not even they want a chance. Their ratings are low and fans dislike it. I give TNA 2 more years before something major happens.

People like AJ Styles made TNA great. Kurt and AJ are kinda like Sting and Flair for WCW. The backbone and the two best. TNA sure should just shut up at this point. Always promising surprises and returns that don't happen. For all my "down with wwe" peeps, TNA isn't the cure. Imagine if TNA had Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Finn, etc. They would be on fire with that talent. Guess money would help here just stop buying old talent.

I agree that Vince changed pro wrestling to a better, but they still had moments where they would pick stuff from WCW and ECW to make better shows and characters. But i don't agree on TNA shutting down now, they can still put on some good shows. I find NXT to be overrated, but I will give them props for getting TNA and indie's top stars.

AJ is right. They tried to put AJ on a bad spot and gain attention, but failed, because there wasn't a real evidence at all of that agreement in the fist place.

2015 wasn't a rise at all... Almost all sunk that year. 2014 was their last good year.

It was enjoyable for me from the beginning of 2015 till the boring title series during the summer.
