Lazy man version : Sales of smackdown continue a slow decline.
Elaborate version:
First some context :
SALES numbers ( courtesy VGchartz.com) :
2009:
x360 ; 10 weeks - 675K ; Total to date - 900K
PS3 : 10 weeks - 553K ; Total to date - 790K
Ps2 : 10 weeks - 779K ; Total to date - 1.13M
2010:
x360 ; 10 weeks - 678k ; Total to date - 999K
PS3 : 10 weeks - 616k ; Total to date - 1.01M
Ps2 : 10 weeks - 655K ; Total to date - 950K
2011:
x360 ; 10 weeks - 559K ; Total to date - 580K
PS3 : 10 weeks - 510K ; Total to date - 530K
Ps2 : 10 weeks - 242K ; Total to date - 250K
Focus on the first 10 weeks ; statistics show it usually will account for roughly 2/3 of total sales.

(too lazy to paste all those hyperlinks)
Not impressed in any way ?
You will be once I throw you the next set of numbers.
2008:
x360 ; 10 weeks - 936K ; Total to date - 1.47M
PS3 : 10 weeks - 644K ; Total to date - 1.21M
Ps2 : 10 weeks - 1.48M ; Total to date - 2.06M (!)
Again focus on the first 10 weeks ; It sold around 5 million (!) copies if we add Wii,DS,psp...
Now you see what has THQ eating their keyboards ; poor guys must be so frustrated.
Seriously ,where did all those ps2 users go ? The Wii ? I left that out yes, but it oo showed a decline.
Also 'interesting', total sales of SD:HCTP - 2.56M ; SDvR 2006 ps2 - 2.65M ;
Please share your *FIRST* thoughts on this.
SvR sales on a decline.

First thing it comes to my attention: they need to get rid of the PS2 version. It isn't worth making anymore, and it's still somehow holding down the "Next Gen" versions.
How is it holding down the Next Gen versions? That's so stupid. It's the fact that the game is getting worse everytime that is making it sell less.

It is. The animations are still old-gen. In SVR11 I can still see animations from old PS2 SmackDown Games (not talking about the moves, talking about the reactions of wrestlers for example to strikes, char shots, etc or what about the massive polygon compenetration?). The engine SVR is using is clearly not a Next Gen one to its full potential.First thing it comes to my attention: they need to get rid of the PS2 version. It has nothing to do with the PS2 version. They are just too lazy to make new animations. That's why I'm not playing SvR11 anymore, they deleted all moves to make their game look ''new''. Do you want to bet that SvR12 will still have old animations?

What do you think about stop making the SvR series for Wii? I think if they stop making SvR series for PS2, they should stop making SvR series for Wii. This is my opinion of course, but what do you think?I am actually leaning toward Andy on this one. I think they should stop making the SvR series for the PS2.
Same question to all other members. Give me your opinions. B)

SmackDown! vs RAW 2011 was the last SvR game for PS2. All Stars will be the last WWE game for PS2. Thank God it's almost over.

SvR's Wii and PS2 versions are nearly the same (PS2 has better graphics but both versions have the same gameplay). PS2 is old, that's why SVR11 was the last game for this console. The SvR series on Wii will last until the Wii 2 comes out.

Well the reason I don't have a PS3 (I have a 360 and a Wii) is not just the money, but also because PS3's are not PS2 games compatible. And I have a lot of PS2 and PS1 games. Its 2011. Theres really no excuse to not have a PS3, 360 or Wii. Unless a family is actually poor, there really shouldnt be an excuse. With that said I agree the PS2 is holding back the game. Once they get with the times and focus on next gen gaming, then the game would be better than it has been since they came to next gen consoles.
