DigitalTrends.com features an article looking at Electronic Arts being on the lookout for acquisitions of other video game studios. They speculate that THQ could be acquired, meaning EA would take over the rights to WWE's video games.
If EA took over @WWEGames, it's gonna be a dream come true...

EA does a hell of a job with their games... Battlefield 3, FIFA?
But i am not sure if there is any company that knows how to do their job as well as THQ.. i don't mean that THQ has been doing a good job, no.. I mean that will "the other" company know what a WWE game needs? Match types...Arenas. etc.. Thats what i am afraid of..

Neither Vince nor Dana White respects EA, nor would they ever let them make there games.

EA has no chance as long as Vince has anything to say about it.

If that is the case then i think we won't see that happening..

Sounds like if EA does buy out THQ, it might be the end of WWE games as we know it. EA doesn't need the games to survive, according to the article, and from what I know of EA, they have no interest in wrestling period, much less the games. Plus as someone stated before, Vince McMahon hates EA, so hopefully he will find some other company that's just as successful as EA to produce the WWE games. That's just my opinion though.

Don't know, I'm not so sure about this, but if another company will do a better job than THQ, then I agree with all changes. I want a great WWE game, and not games unfinished.

3 questions

1. Would Cory still be involved?
2. Why does Mr McMahon hate EA?
3. Doesnt Yukes make the game & EA just publish it?

Because EA doesn't consider wrestling a sport, and Vince took that as disrespect.

Ppl have there reason's for not wanting EA to have any part in our wrestling games, and other have there reason's why they think they should. Mostly, the reasons they should is wishful thinking, and the reasons they should stay away are based on track record, and facts. MY personal reason will always and FOREVER be there complete and utter decimation of football gaming. Back in 2004/2005 when NFL 2K5 was out (and still till this day is arguably thee best NFL Football game made), EA saw that ppl were buying that game more than Madden, for half the price of Madden, got scared 2K Sports would dominate the genre (Just like they are now with NBA 2K) and bought out the NFL license.

I for one do not, nor will I ever condone the elimination of competition when it comes to video games. Sure it's a good business decision on EA's part, but ultimately makes them look like cowards, while they strip away any chance of an NFL football game by 2K Sports ever again as long as they keep the license. There's no one else to look to, no other options, and we will always be stuck with the same recycled mess of a Football game...which today we call Madden. Think EA doesn't know 2K makes better football games? They know. Think they don't know 2K makes better NBA games? Oh they know that good and well...but they don't care, as long as they get paid. That is there attitude, and I will never...EVER buy a WWE game if they were to have the license....EVER, just like I don't buy Madden.

I know I'm only 1 person, but that's how I personally feel about EA. I'd rather have no WWE game than to have them be the ones involved with one.

I read about this news today.

Ubisoft is said to be looking at taking over THQ's assets and the initial belief is that they are exploring getting it for a "bargain basement price". The company has interest in continuing with the WWE franchise. The biggest obstacle is the unpaid royalties to WWE in what is being touted as a breach of contract with THQ.

We have seen the end of THQ, what now happens to the publisher who will probably take over in it's place remains to be seen. Gawd....the humanity.

I wonder how a company like Rockstar or Ubisoft would make a good wrestling game, considering both haven't ventured into the sports category. EA or 2K Sports would be the most ideal, but how about a whole new company or a little known one taking over it?

For one, I would like Rockstar do a free-roaming WWE game!

i think that the only one that can really buy thq is both 2k or Ubisoft. Rockstar will never buy a wrestling game.

If my memory doesn't betray me, Ubisoft didn't get into sports yet. But they're doing a great job with their own franchises: Assassin's Creed, FarCry and Driver. Non of their top franchises includes a sports game. So IMO 2K would be a better place for the WWE to stay at.
