It's true that you can't stop someone from cursing, but it's not like someone has to curse. A person can give their opinion on anything without cursing.

 

I also don't find the need to argue. Especially because anything that is argued about isn't even worth arguing over. I've been here almost 4 years and I don't recall being in an argument. I agree with Ben.

This reference (read about the ancient topic in the link) proves why we need to collaborate together and commune about what makes our community special. Our Board Rules ensures we don't become another example of what's been going on within other places. Our staff understands the need to make our forum the best it can offer, nothing stands in our way of making this place better.

Those topics can be the most heated debates in general, inevitably an opinion will turn into a flame war about who's right and wrong on their personal beliefs of politics and religion. These ideas are arguably the most sensitive areas for people to openly discuss, we're trying to avoid immense damage to our community and controversy stemming from such polarizing discussions.
