WWE 2K16 for Last-Gen underrated? My review

When I bought WWE 2K16 for my Xbox 360, I wasn't expecting much, but I've got to say I was positively shocked.

2K actually improved the graphics. The lightning was fixed making the models look a lot better.
Speaking of models, I was shocked with most of the models this year, mainly with Randy Orton's and John Cena's and it's a shame the other superstars didn't have the same treatment.

Surprisingly, the gameplay was also improved. The attacks have been slowed down and new animations were added (Imagine the gameplay from WWE '13 mixed with WWE 2K14) making the matches more fluid and, therefore, more fun.
My first match (Cena vs Rollins (me))was an amazing 5 star match as it was with my match recently against Kane as Cena. This game is really more fun to play than 2K15

The crowd has also been improved. I can actually hear the crowd reacting to what is happening in the ring.
I have mixed feelings about the commentary. Although it has been vastly improved, I can still be annoyed sometimes by it (the annoying line "he's putting those educated feet to good use" is gone only to be replaced to "when he gets like this, there are a few better"). For some reason JBL isn't present in the game (as a commentator) which I personally don't mind since I didn't like it what I heard from him on the Current-Gen versions.

Not everything is good though. There are still some glitches (no camera cuts again!) but the fact is that I'm having more fun with this game that I had with 2K14 and 2K15.

Btw, custom entrance songs are back!

I recommend this game if you don't like the simulation style of the Current-Gen because in case you didn't know, you will be able to play the Last-Gen version on your Xbox One later this month thanks to the new retrocompatibily feature.

I've got the Ps3 version. I was annoyed that they (again) kept this version so secretive and didn't let anyone know any of the advertised features were actually not going to be present.

 

It feels like last years with a facelift. However the Showcase mode is better and I really like playing as the NXT guys. I actually don't mind stuff sucking because I'll be getting an XBox One over the next 2 months or so, so looking forward to playing that the more wrong I see with this version.

It's good in my opinion. It has its flaws for being a Last-Gen game (specially for not having a MyCareer mode) but for some reason I have a lot more fun with this than I had with 2K15.

No you won't. It's only for select games not everything and especially not games that already have an Xbox One version.
