Rockstar has offered an explanation for the decision to delay Grand Theft Auto V on PC.

The PS4 and Xbox One versions will join the already hugely successful PS3 and Xbox 360 versions on the High Street on November 18th. The PC SKU, however, won’t arrive until January 27th.

“We're glad to see so many of you are excited for the upcoming release of the new versions of GTAV and we look forward to sharing more details with you soon,” the developer said.

“We are also incredibly excited to be bringing GTA V to the PC, but the game requires a little more development time in order to ensure that it is as amazing and polished as possible.”

This new version of GTA V offers increased draw distances and higher resolution as well as a host of new activities, weapons and vehicles plus additional wildlife, denser traffic, improved foliage and enhanced damage and weather effects.

Radio stations will offer over 100 new songs and new DJ mixes and those who pre-order will be offered $1,000,000 of in-game cash that can be spent either in the main game or in GTA Online.

Those who upgrade from the PS3 and Xbox 360 releases will get some extras, too, including some classic GTA vehicles, a faster blimp and new activities such as Wildlife Photography. Existing GTA Online saves can be transferred – including to PC.

GTA Online gets some special love, too, with up to 30 players now supported.

They just want to sell the most copies asap before the game ends in the hands of the pirates. Just that.

Just means more douchebag griefers to deal with.

That & I wouldn't be surprised if by more "polish" for the PC version they mean trying to make the game unmoddable.

Honestly, I used to be against mods, but now not so much. But it's like some Youtubers were saying, if the game was to be moddable it would go against & ruin Rockstars system they have in place for the game (Online GTA$ & money for Story DLC) because people that modded the game wouldn't spend GTA$ & money for DLC thus Rockstar would lose profit & PC is already a questionable market to begin with, in terms of max profit from within games like GTA.

So, yeah Rockstar may very well look to avoid that.
