Ok another way to get more people to the site, is retweeting out members vids.

By doing that, it will likely draw more people to the site, if they see the kind of people here.

It worked in the past, if it's not broke don't fix it.

*Look towards a certain company & MUFC.

Also people are right you do need other games because if you just ate the same food.

Then after a while you would get sick of it.

However main focus should still be WWEgames based, as that's what made the site known.

BTW you don't need outside talent to help with this, since you got the homegrown roster already.

We do need a twitter manager. Maybe have a few guys running the account and regularly post topics. I'd do it but I suggest waiting until we make the other changes so new members don't get confused.

I think the the community is something that needs to change fast. Let's get to know each other more, let's do more things as groups. Actually discuss things with fellow members. Then when we have a social, active, fun and intelligent community more of the same type of people will want to join and we'll have a place worthy of showing off. We have some great ideas to get more members but like somebody has said already, a larger community doesn't necessarily mean a greater community. We need to set an example for new members to follow.

I've already said what I wanted and I hope things change. It seems like most members really do want this place to be better judging from the replies in this thread. If this place does change for the better, slowly or quickly, then I promise myself and so many others will be here as much as possible posting quality content. I'm glad you took our concerns seriously Alex, because we need help from staff. I've seen so myself many times on other forums.

I second all of this.

You know what? I'm going to open myself up for conversation. If anyone wants to know some more about me, just PM me. I know not everyone will want to do it but I want everyone to get to know me. Coltrane and Sterling Archer have talked with me but I'm definitely interested in more conversation with everyone. Partially, Static, Alex, Jet, BCG, Daz, Wpr96, Dozer, Tamer and AgeofSandow but I'm free to interact with anyone.

Well, obviously I still like it here enough to be here.

1st. I think that Andy and Simone need to be more active again. They use to be active more often and participated more in different sections.

2nd. I think changes need to be made as far as with staff. Only half of the mods and even VIPs are really active enough, sadly. But this has been at least for a year.

3rd. We all should maybe start participating more in other sections that don't get that much participation, Sports, Gaming section, Board Games, etc etc.

I may add more later. I hate trying to make long posts on mobile.

I'm proud of you LAZY BOY AL! :P

I think we should be able to discuss politics and religion on here. Make the discussions abide to the rules and warn if someone behaves irresponsible, but don't punish the topics for stupid people.

More activity

More diverse topics. What ya'll are doing with the bringing back old topics in off topic is a god idea. Maybe try that elsewhere.

A forum is only as good as its off topic section/s. You can't just focus on the one thing because it'll flop. I've seen it happen on plenty of forums in my time.

edit: you can't have politics or religion talk? what the hell kind of idea is that xD. Caws has a religion topic, just make one here and moderate it.

I've read through all your posts and I thank you all for the contributions, but don't stop there! I intend for the discussions in this topic to go one for a LONG time considering the amount of reform needed to pull us back into a position where everyone enjoys coming onto here. Because of this I shall be drafting up a list of improvements (in the 1st post) ranging from MAJOR to MINOR regarding the complexity of the suggestions, and how long they will take to implement. Therefore if you could start making ideas relevant to how we go by improving this in response to the first list I have produced which evaluates all of your points.

OFFICIAL SUGGESTIONS, IMPROVEMENTS AND REFORMS:

MAJOR:

  • Re-organising the content, display and demographic of the forum as a whole. The current design caters too much to WWE and WWE games. Whilst this is a good thing, and brings in activity in that regard, it doesn't give those coming for WWE news and games news a reason to stick around after the game has been released. To have substantial activity throughout the entire year (and not just the 6 months in the build-up and release of the annual game) we need more focus upon other games and specifically Off Topic considering it is the widely regarded as the most active section.
  • Encourage members to participate in active, good quality debate and discussions rather than dropping one line in a topic, leaving and never returning to see others' responses. This could be implemented via a post in the staff announcements, similar to "Want to learn English?" in Off Topic and also mentioned in the Board Rules complete with a new section which will earn prestige and promotions on the forum
  • Regarding current activity, we're not getting a lack of guests coming onto the forum, as we recently smashed the record for "Most Online" back in September, it's the lack of members signing up that's the problem. Possible restrictions in certain sections could solve this or prompt the guests to sign up in a more persuasive manner by perhaps including a message every time they view a new section. The one we have at the moment is good but we need more of it to get more people signing up. --- NEED MORE FEEDBACK ON HOW THIS CAN BE IMPLEMENTED
  • A complete change in the ranking system, removing the requirements in the Supporter's group and adding other stipulations so it is continued to be reserved for the best Members who aren't VIP's. Also change the Staff and VIP groups around, perhaps increasing the size of each. This suggestion in specific is down to Andy Badwool for the most part.

MINOR:

  • Reforming MOTM in it's entirety. If this award is to continue perhaps have it accesible to ALL of the members, considering we value equality and for example a Moderator such as myself is just as much as a member as a a Member. Pardon the terrible pun. Nevertheless, as previously mentioned, it should be the member with best post quality which wins Member of the Month rather than quantity.
  • More things that integrate forum members together rather than having recognised "CAWs" members and "SDH" original members. This could be achieved by Events and therefore setting "Events Managers" and competitions --- MORE SPECIFICITY AND FEEDBACK NEEDED ON HOW THIS CAN BE IMPLEMENTED
  • More interaction on Social Media, perhaps make someone the "Social Media Correspondent" or "Social Media Manager". We need more communication on these platforms to encourage and entice more members into joining.

This place is great and I think adding members will be a bad thing. I don't want assholes to join and completely ruin the great atmosphere. The off topic section is a place I feel comfortable sharing personal things to a mature crowd, even more so than most of my friends.

I assure you my friend the increase in more mature members will only do this forum good, and I can speak from experience there.

That I part I bolded out is something that I really don't have a problem especially since I'm literally about 3 weeks from going for it.

I think we should be able to discuss politics and religion on here. Make the discussions abide to the rules and warn if someone behaves irresponsible, but don't punish the topics for stupid people.

If I was able to discuss not just politics and religion but human issues closely related to those things, I would be happy with that.

Talk of social issues, social injustice. Inequality(not just racial but also economic) is something I would discuss.

Owners/Administrators have to focus on member's movements a lot more. These days actually no one cares about the board rules. Double-posts, bumping old topics, topics with partial informations, etc. They should be more stricter than before. (That's why I quoted the rules on those kinds of problems and I was going to get warning points for that.) We have the same problem on giving awards at the time, here's a example: I returned here on late January & I've started to work hard since then. It's December now, I'm contributing for 11 months. Sorry but where's my "Hard Worker" award? Where is Tamer's "Hard Worker" award? Where is 005Classics "Hard Worker" award? (They've gained 2,000 posts in a half of a year, this is a record.)

Improve the whole staff team, remove some & add more active members. This is funny, Dazman is here for 4 years working hard as a great supporter. He should have been a VIP, He should have been apart of the Staff. And also try to share the viewing forums for each staff member, someone is a moderator of just one forum but someone is a moderator of more than 50 forums! Bring some new guys who really deserve this promotion & share all the viewing forums in the way of justice.

These 2 ideas for now, I'm on phone & I don't have much time to post all, but sure I'll share them with SDH.

To be fair, I think me and Tamer should both be promoted to Supporters and be giving the Hard Worker award. It's not really fair that I had to wait so long to be a supporter but it's worse when he has to wait about 4-6 months till after me. I don't mind the green badges tho. And Daz's should of been a Mod by now.

@005Classics, It's in the rules though, you have to be in the forum for 1 year to be a supporter, I know you deserve it, I know Tamer deserves it, but you guys have to patiently wait for your year, it might look unfair to you and others, but it's necessary to have it that way.

That's not fair though. Every other supporter before you had to wait a year and follow the rules. Just because you posted a lot and feel like you deserve it doesn't mean you should be given a free pass. If we gave you guys an exception then we'd have to do it with everyone, then whats the point in having the criteria? I'm pretty sure we've explained this before. You don't have much longer to wait anyway!

In regards to your first post that is why we're going to have a complete reform of the Board Rules, not only to change how they are implemented but also to have a section which encourages the things that lead to promotions.

Also Dazman signed up 4 years ago, but has only been active for 2. Nevertheless I understand that some people deserve promotions and some people are in positions which they perhaps shouldn't be.

To be fair, I think me and Tamer should both be promoted to Supporters and be giving the Hard Worker award. It's not really fair that I had to wait so long to be a supporter but it's worse when he has to wait about 4-6 months till after me.

I agree. I'm also in favour of reducing perhaps the 1 year, 500 posts rule and implementing tougher restrictions so the Supporters is reserved for our most prestigious members, if the Supporters group is to stay.

I've never been a massive fan of the idea of the Supporters if truth be told because I think we should have a bigger Staff/Admin/VIP class which puts more prestige on to them groups and as I said back in the day, it meant more to become VIP.

---

Anyway does anyone have any other suggestions regarding how we can specifically improve something?
