TNA Fires Matt Hardy Following DUI ArrestLordsofPain

Following his arrest this afternoon in North Carolina for driving while intoxicated, Matt Hardy has been released by TNA Wrestling.

In a statement released to TMZ.com, an unnamed TNA spokesperson commented, "TNA today released Impact Wrestling star Matt Hardy from its roster. Hardy was already under suspension from the company."

According to company sources, plans were in place for Matt and Jeff Hardy to return to television in October. Jeff's status with the company, however, remains unchanged since they will be releasing a DVD on his career this fall and other merchandise.

In 2000, the Hardy Boyz were at the highest point of their career. Included in matches such as the first TLC match and multiple ladder matches. Note that they have experience with metal before.

I wish the Matt and Jeff could be better. They used to be role models. But now, I can't hear the name, "Jeff Hardy" without mentioning his drug addiction and Matt without saying... well no one ever mentions Matt. I want role model Matt and Jeff back, not jailbird Matt and Jeff.

Damn Matt , I wonder if he's gonna try to come back to the WWE? Probably not..

Edit: F4WOnline.com reports that company president Dixie Carter made the decision to terminate Hardy's contract following his arrest earlier in the day in North Carolina for driving while intoxicated.

Meanwhile, Shane Helms has posted several messages on Twitter in defense of his longtime friend. He has directed numerous obscenity laced messages to users who disagree with him and also attacked TMZ.com for breaking the news of Hardy's arrest.

"TMZ, a site that profits off the mistakes and downfalls of human beings. How proud they must be. What a bunch of maggots," he wrote.

Hardy's girlfriend Reby Sky has also reacted to Hardy's unfortunate twist of fate. She wrote on Twitter, "It hurts to see anyone I love hurt in any way but I have faith that all will be ok. Regardless of what happens. Thanks for the support."

This is my favorite part of forums. He can hate Matt Hardy because he used to have a YouTube show and he can dislike what he seen as well as his idea of a standard good wrestler. And okay fine he asked for it but the Hardy's are nothing but trash. They let themselves go.

SO true Jeff 'Always takes drugs named ' Hardy

To be honest, I never really liked Matt, to me he was just the older brother that was only popular because of his younger brother. Jeff used to be cool back in WWE, now he let himself go and is hooked up on drugs, he really turned his career around for the worst
