Female Expendables?

07 February 2014 - 06:16 PM

The female take on The Expendables -- called The ExpendaBelles, of course -- now has a director: Robert Luketic.

Luketic’s most recent credit is Paranoia, which starred Liam Hemsworth, Gary Oldman, and Harrison Ford. He’s also made films like Legally Blonde and Monster-in-Law, and in fact Deadline reports that the ExpendaBelles script is from Legally Blonde writers Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah. Earlier reports had indicated that a writer named Dutch Southern had penned the screenplay, so it’s not clear whether or not Smith and McCullah did a page-one rewrite or just a polish.

Additionally, Deadline says that no actresses are locked in for the film yet, which doesn’t jibe with previous talk that Gina Carano and Katee Sackhoff had both been cast. Meryl Streep, Cameron Diaz, and Milla Jovovich have also been said to be in talks for the film.

Katee Sackhoff, who may or may not be in The ExpendaBelles...
Katee Sackhoff, who may or may not be in The ExpendaBelles...

Here’s the logline, as per Deadline: “When America’s Navy SEALs are wiped out trying to penetrate the island lair of a deadly despot who has captured one of the world’s top nuclear scientists, it becomes clear that there is no such thing as the right man for the job and that this is a mission so impossible that only women can handle it. The only way in: some of the world’s deadliest female operatives must pose as high-class call-girls shipped in by private plane to satisfy a dictator - and instead save the scientist and the day.”

Production begins this summer.

Update: IGN reader wraf0211 has helped to elucidate this matter. It turns out there are actually two "Female Expendables" projects in the works -- this one, called The ExpendaBelles, and another from producer Adi Shankar. It's Shankar's film that is to star Gina Carano and Katee Sackhoff, while The ExpendaBelles has had Meryl Streep, Cameron Diaz, and Milla Jovovich rumored. But now the questions is, can the world handle two female Expendables films? (Why not?!)

Female Expendables huh who would be apart of your team? For me Milla Jovovich, Uma Thurman, Keira Knightley, Kate Beckinsale and Sigourney Weaver as the leader?

Why not this Batista right now?

05 February 2014 - 12:33 AM

People are wondering why aren't we seeing this Batista? The problem with Batista right now with people not giving a shit about his run right now, is due to one people finding out he was returning in the dirt sheets. From here WWE had to make the news which screwed up any momentum he could of had. Imagine if Batista returned at the Rumble, and no one knew, and win it would people would of been as angry? Recently Batista is being hurt by his run right now from his fans due to, his lack of watching of the product he's done the past four years. He doesn't understand why are these fans chanting Bryan, look at me...look at him, no comparison. Right now I can't see WWE making Orton vs Batista for Mania, but right now he's walking on egg shells trying to find his niche on the roster.

Wrestler on the Hot Seat?

31 January 2014 - 12:51 AM

The past few days I've been watching some preview trailers for Kevin Steen's the Kevin Steen show. It's awesome friends of his from ROH or even PWG are able to lay it all on the line, and say what they feel about their lives whether discussing about getting released by a Wrestling promotion recently, or wild sex stories from on the road over the years. Each person he has on their show gives off a different energy, which got me thinking if I had to interview a Wrestler past or present, whether they are alive today or Wrestling high in the sky who would it and why? I would say Ric Flair, now many of you know I'm a huge mark for the man and I think if I were to have the honor to meet him and interview him, with some booze he would spill the beans.Did anyone see how he acted during the segment during around the time of Summerslam? WWE was promoting WWE 2K14 involving the WM, and all the Wrestlers at the panel were talking about the importance of WM in Wrestling? Easily Flair was drunk before being on stage, and I think I could get loads of entertaining from Flair. One bad side though, from hearing stories from A.J Styles lately, it seems when you are with Flair..you are drinking no matter what?! I'll end of telling Flair sorry sir I don't drink, and he would probably snap lol. Who would you like to interview if you had the chance?

Should 2K release their WWE games later?

22 January 2014 - 07:39 PM

You might be wondering what do I mean by my question above well this past year I didn't buy WWE 2K14.I didn't see anything outside of the Wrestlemania history involving their matches to spend 60 on the game. Now you might be wondering about Universe mode well I usually put through that once or twice and that's it with that adjective in the game. For years now Wrestling games involving WWE have come out in either November or December wouldn't it better to release 2K15 in March or April around WM time? By this time 2K can get a more updated roster and a better game that might peak my interest to buy future games do you guys think on the matter?

First Movie you saw in Theaters without your family?

22 January 2014 - 06:02 PM

Last night with some free time I watched the first Fast and the Furious movie which came out in 2001.I was thinking to myself wow 13 years ago this movie came out? I literally had to stop the movie for a moment because I felt a flashback of the opening weekend I had when this movie came out.I was 13 at the time myself, and I remember going with friends as it was the first movie I went to the Theaters without my Parents.Time was simpler and much easier. You know I look at 2001 and see how my life and how much it changed. When I have a bad day in my life, movies like Fast and the Furious I can always pop in and relive some moments that can warm my heart and soul.In 2001 a movie of this kind wasn't really done, the racing life and it was very unique for it's time.I like to give a honorable mention to the movie I saw next in Theaters without my Parents was called Summer Catch. One of the fellas mentioned we should go to see the movie and I said why not, I guess my friend didn't tell me how hot Jessica Biel is, and boy for a guy going through puberty seeing that pool scene in the opening and later you see her swim, lordddddd. It made it better getting some numbers from some girls that strangely enough lived in the same neighborhood as us but I wanna know what movies did you remember going to the theaters by yourself?
