I heard XBOX had issues today.

I read it had yesterday , but it's not officially attacked at the moment ... So it could be simple problems of the servers .

On twitter, they mentioned XBOX, which could be next. They claimed to be testing something, which around that time XBOX was acting up.

Yeah , but for now they didn't manage to take it out .

Yep, Microsoft dodged a bullet yet again.....

Meanwhile Tumblr has been DDOS'd..... 4chan, Twitter, facebook & reddit may be next....

A ddos isn't really a hack.

What's the difference between the two?

Well with a ddos, most of the time a small program or file, will be installed into your compute unnoticeable (example: malware can be used to disguise it or it will come in from a safe trusted site)... This is done to around 10k - 100k computers creating a network of data, which is sent to a server or servers making lots of traffic.... Doing this loads up the bandwidth cap making the server(s) sluggish or crash them all together shutting said server(s) down. In doing so, the company affected have to reset and refresh their network and reroute the flow of traffic to get their selves back online..

Yeah , they stuck the sever  , but the accounts and info doesn't get affected .

Thank goodness!

Thank you for letting everyone know, Noob. (And for resting people's minds with the distinction between a ddos and hack, Flash). Seriously, Sony, get on the ball here!

Well no one can really stop it, especially using cloud flare (which all games use as a server), and the reason why 2k's servers suck for the NBA and WWE games lol. The latency and synchronization is real...

Will PlayStation "gift" us again like they did last time? And how does a company get hacked AGAIN after what happened in 2011?

Anonymous 2.0?

Nope it is done by the Lizard Squad, been happening since last Saturday... They have a twitter and apparently it is for "social equality" when quite frankly, targeting the gaming community does jack squat. Them claiming social equality is a load of bull to me, because if they truly meant that, they'd DDOS the NSA, ISIS and Child Pornography sites but instead, go for the gamers, people who actually support them......

All in all, they need to get laid....
