On this page, you find the full Title History for the World Tag Team Championship, with all Championship Info, Statistics, the Belt Design changes through the years, and the full list of Title Reigns, along with dates, events, and reign durations.
The World Tag Team Championship is contested in World Wrestling Entertainment on the Raw brand, by men wrestlers.
The championship was first established on October 3, 2002, and the inaugural champion was Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit.
The championships were created by SmackDown General Manager Stephanie McMahon when it was decided that the World Tag Team Championships would be exclusive to the Raw brand. The shrewd executive declared that the first champions would be the duo that survived a brutal tournament. Since that time, many great tandems have staked claim to the coveted titles, including D-Generation X, John Morrison & The Miz and Los Guerreros.
The title was renamed the Raw Tag Team Championship following the 2016 WWE Brand Extension Draft. On the April 15, 2024 episode of Raw, the title was renamed to the World Tag Team Championship.
The World Tag Team Championship ('71-'10) was previously unified into this championship.
The current champion is the team of The Judgment Day (Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh), who won the title on the episode of Raw on June 24, 2024, and has been reigning for 128 days.
