That's just the way it comes across sometimes. Don't get me wrong, Jericho and Rock are two of my all time favourites but they're heart is not into WWE anymore, their more concerned with making music and making movies. I have no problem with them making returns to WWE because I love watching them but they need to be away from the main event scene, as I said there are guys that want and need it a lot more than these two and if they're not serious about being the best in WWE anymore then they need to move on. Dolph Ziggler said it best in an interview earlier this year at how pissed off he was that 4 of the 6 men in the main events of WrestleMania this year were part-timers, I completely agree and it's not helping the future of WWE whatsoever.
Jericho doesn't need it and quite clearly doesn't care as much as he used to or he wouldn't return for 6 months, take 6 months off and then return again. With the money these part-timers are making right now, it wouldn't shock me at all if it was a factor in all of this.
At least when y2j comes back he stays with wwe until his next tour instead of coming back to wwe winning a title going on movie publicity for 3 months and shows up for mania like The Rock.

He'll be back when he is in need of more money just like Dwayne.
Jericho does care about the business though. Not that Dwayne doesn't, it's just more obvious with Jericho.
Rock 2011-2013 version, does not put over talent besides Cena.

But why should Rock return?

There wasn't much for him to put over, to be fair. Awesome Truth were hardly going to beat the WM28 main eventers, and Punk had already had a multi-record breaking reign.
Exactly, who really was over enough for Rock to put over?
