A lot of people saying A was the True Ending simply because it was the first option. I truly believe there is no true ending. This is my Theory on what the Different Endings mean and how we should interpret them.

GTA 5 was a bit of a Psychological thing. Hence why you received the Therapist Analogy at the end. The ending was a Psychological thing as well. Picking "A" made you more likely to want a normal feeling, thus not accepting Trevor for the oddity that he is. Picking "B" made you more likely to want to punish the sinful, as Michael sinned so much in the game, which is why his Family leaves and all this Bad Karma attached to his life. Picking "C" would mean that you are a bit more comfortable with everyone and accept people for who they are. Option C to me was the ideal ending. I don't see how anyone could kill Michael or Trevor.

They are both fun and amazing characters. Trevor is so crazy and unique, but he's deep at the same time. Look at the Mission where he Hallucinates his mother being in his House and ends up crying at the end because she's actually dead.

Then the Mission for Michael where Jimmy drugs him and you are him Flying through the Skies of San Andreas. That is deep because the music provided by C90s is in Michael's head, as well as the echo of his Family's hate towards him. After that Mission you realize that Michael wants a Normal family, to escape the reality that he left Brad for dead and all that he has sinned for, through Murder or Adultery. However Michael has a pretty shitty family himself. His son is a bum who won't go outside and get a job; but eats food, plays video games and Smokes Weed all day. His daughter is essentially a small time Pornstar and the Typical fame chaser. And his Wife sleeps with everyone, just to get back at Michael. Of course all of this changes in the End..but it's still relevant to Michael's psychy.

Franklin is the only "Normal" character. This is why they made him the Character to decide the fates in the end. However choosing options "A" or "B" take away an aspect of Normality from Franklin as you can tell by both endings that something is different of his character. He's more cold.

This is how I see the endings. And knowing Rockstar, they are likely behind the same mentality. What do you think?

Very interesting, and I while I never put that much thought into it, I quite agree with these. We may never know if any are a true ending. I mean, we still don't know which ending to GTA IV is the true one. We have references about Nico, but none about either Kate or Roman. Perhaps all of the endings are the true endings in their own way (By the players perspective).

I have a feeling the last ending will be canon if they ever reference the game again. The kill endings seemed really rushed IMO and less fleshed out. I do think the choice is there to make you feel more strongly about what happens after you decide.

Its kind of why I don't like these alternate ending type ordeals because once the Franchise continues and expands, we are left in the dark about which ending is real and it causes confusion. It's not like every game offers you to select the ending you chose from the previous and just pick up there. One thing we do know though is that Franklin is alive either way.

I totally disagree with the kill endings. Trevor's is the only kill ending that looked good, only because Michael gave Franklin that speech and then Yeasayer played into the credits (Epic Song). But I loved "C" option the most. Those guys belong together.

Not that I disagree with anything you said but... Is that actually... like... not incredibly clearly told and obvious? Like, did people really not understand that?

A lot of people did not understand the message behind it, no. Joe-Ker is one of them as well as many many others in the comments of YouTube sections.

Franklin ends up been the worst person of the three if you pick ending A or B. Trevor basically kills or tortures bad people or criminals like him, but he's loyal to the people he cares about and shows his heart at times. It's worth mentioning that in ending A he tried to scape, but never once tried to kill Franklin. Michael tries to kill Franklin when he's about to catch him and betrayed his old crew, but Franklin does the same to the guy who treated him like a son and without him, he would've never won that much money. Without a doubt, C is the most fulfilling ending.

Well, the final moments of the road to them were anticlimatic from a character standpoint. They made them behave in a way that any of the three endings could happen, but it also hurt the likeness of the characters themselves. Also option C lasts more than A and B combined, so I get your point.

I really want them to state that Option C is canon and nothing else. I want more from Michael, Trevor, and Franklin. However the next cast of Characters truly have big shoes to fill, no matter what option was picked by the player.

I think they'll do like they did with people of GTA IV in GTA V, only appearing the people who survived no matter your choices, so I only see Franklin showing up.

I could see Lester, Lamar, The DeSanta family, and Trevor's friends returning as well in Cameo fashion. However I'd love it if Michael and Trevor come back, making Option C cannon.

Great description! This really makes me want to play the game but since I've already read these comments then I'll wait until the next one comes out and play that one instead! XD I like to avoid strategy guides for this reason because although I love spoilers....it can take away from the best moments of the game and despite reading this...I'm still intrigued but less motivated due to the release dates of each platform so that's by default but no fault of your own OP.
