WWE 2K creative director Lynell Jinks detailed the improved Creation Suite in WWE 2K18 in the latest 2KDev Spotlight Episode, with brand new gameplay footage featuring Create A Superstar, Highlight Reel, Create An Arena, all New Moves & more! Check out the video and all the details below!

Create A Superstar

  • There is a variety of face templates that represent different races and ethnicities, that you can use as is, or modify to your likings.
  • The way Body Types are handled in WWE 2K18 has been changed, to shape the ideal body type to your Superstars.
  • You can now add some flair to hair styles, by choosing between some pretty cool designs that get carved into your Superstar’s head.
  • You can now freely move Scars around all over the body.
  • You can now fully customize teeth, by individually choosing their look, as well as having the option to individually remove each tooth from the Superstar’s mouth.
  • A few new Material Types have been added to WWE 2K18, such as Carbon Fiber, Glitter, Glow and Black Light.
  • The “infamous” issue with the edges of a design/logo fading out when being stretched, has finally been addressed in WWE 2K18, with a new Logo Mapping method, that allows you to fully wrap the logo around the part.
  • The Stitch Pattern feature from last year has been improved and redesigned, now allowing you to draw the patterns first, apply them and resize them, as well as save them to be re-used on any other Superstar.
  • To go along with the new Lighting System in WWE 2K18, in the Create A Superstar Menu, there is now the ability to preview the different lighting scenarios throughout the game, with options for Backstage, Match Lighting, Day Light, Black Light and Lights Off.
  • The Lighting Preview comes really handy when applying and previewing the Glow and Black Light material, for easier control on how intense you want these effects to be. And you are not limited to just Attires and Clothes. You can also apply these effects to Tattoos, Body Art, and hair as well. And when you combine this with Create An Entrance, you can really create some interesting looks that really help your superstar stand out. Think of Chris Jericho’s jacket or Naomi.
  • You will now have more control on the Menu Pose as well. Not only you can choose which pose you want for the body, but hands pose and face expressions can also be individually customized, to give your Superstar a more distinct look. In addition, it’s now also possible to choose the Entrance Attire as a Menu Screen Pose.

Create An Arena

  • There is now the ability to create a very small Indy Venue.
  • A new Arena Template included in WWE 2K18 Create An Arena is the Hammerstein Ballroom Arena / ECW Arena used in the ECW One Night Stand Pay Per View, complete with its famous bleachers and look.
  • In Create-A-Show, you now have the option to choose your Show Watermark Image that displays in the bottom corner during gameplay.
  • A new Screen Filter has been added: it’s an 8-Bit Screen Filter, in case you feel nostalgic and want to take a trip down memory lane and make WWE 2K18 look like an old school game.

Highlight Reel / Create A Video

  • The Highlight Reel has been completely revamped in WWE 2K18. During a match, all you have to do is pause the game, go to Highlight Reel and save the latest highlights.
  • Once that’s done, you go to the Create A Video mode, access the highlights, choose the start/end point and camera angle, now featuring a fully Free Roam Camera!
  • Another addition is the ability to even hide the referee, the crowd and the background while encoding the video.
  • Removing the background will make the wrestlers perform their actions on a transparent background, allowing you to place them on top of any background or environment that you see fit.
  • 2K also added some videos with transparency (alpha channel) built-in, so you can layer them on top of existing clips (think of the Vaudevillains Titantron as an example, with the curtains uncovering the video behind them). You can have up to three layers, so you have a lot of freedom to create really interesting looks.
