WWE 2K26 is the 26th installment in the long-running main series of WWE professional wrestling video games, and the successor to WWE 2K25 - developed by 2K and Visual Concepts.

WWE 2K26 Release Date and Platforms

WWE 2K26, developed by Visual Concepts, will be available on March 13, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.

The special editions of the game (King of Kings Edition, Attitude Era Edition, and Monday Night Wars Edition) are all scheduled for worldwide release on March 6, 2026, seven days prior to the Standard Edition.

For the first time, the game will not be released on last-gen platforms.

WWE 2K26 Roster

WWE 2K26 boasts a roster of over 400 playable characters, the biggest in franchise history. It's a combination of current Superstars from RAW, SmackDown and NXT, plus legends and WWE Hall of Famers.

The massive WWE 2K26 Roster features John Cena, Roman Reigns, IYO SKY, Seth Rollins, Eddie Guerrero, Liv Morgan, Penta, Charlotte Flair, Randy Orton, new additions and returns including Rey Fénix, Rusev, and Blake Monroe!

WWE 2K26 Pre-Order Bonus & Editions

WWE 2K26 will be released in 4 different game editions: the Standard Edition, the King of Kings Deluxe Edition, the Attitude Era Edition, and the Monday Night War Edition.

The Standard Edition, one of four total this year, will be available for $69.99, and all players who pre-order this version of the game will also receive the Joe Hendry Pack.

WWE 2K26 Game Features

WWE 2K26 Showcase Mode: Punked

The WWE 2K26 Showcase mode will be dedicated to the career of CM Punk.

CM Punk jumps through time to relive incredible moments from his career. Narrated by "The Best in the World" himself, players will relive iconic matches and battle against WWE Legends in Fantasy Warfare.

As previously seen in WWE 2K25, the WWE 2K26 Showcase will also include a "What If?" Change History section, featuring hypothetical matches that could have taken place if CM Punk had never left WWE in 2014. In addition, there will be a Create History section, showcasing dream matches that CM Punk never had the opportunity to compete in during his WWE run.

WWE 2K26 New Match Types

WWE 2K26 delivers 4 new match types: I Quit Match, Inferno Match, 3 Stages of Hell, and Dumpster Match.

• The 3 Stages of Hell Match was last featured in WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2006. The match consists of 3 consecutive stipulations, and has recently been used on WWE programming featuring Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre.
• The I Quit Match will be making its return to the series after 13 years, having last appeared in WWE 2K14. This will allow players to once again relive iconic I Quit matches such as John Cena vs. Randy Orton or John Cena vs. Batista.
• The Inferno Match also last appeared in WWE 2K14, released in 2013. While it hasn't been featured in WWE programming in recent years, its return to the game series is a welcome addition for longtime fans.
• The Dumpster Match is a completely new addition, having never appeared in the series before. It will likely feature gameplay mechanics similar to the Casket Match, which was introduced last year in WWE 2K25. In recent WWE programming, the Dumpster Match was used on SmackDown for Chelsea Green vs. Michin.

MyGM Mode

WWE 2K26's MyGM mode now features Intergender Matches, 5, 6, and 8-man matches, plus support for more match types than ever before, vastly increase the number of possible matches and outcomes. More shows per season pose new management challenges in 2K’s strategic brand management simulation mode.

• The default setting for a MyGM Season is now 50 weeks. There are more budget options and a new Immortal difficulty level.
• MyGM now supports 5-way, 6-way, 8-way, multi-man tag team matches, Handicap matches, all the new match types, as well as Intergender Matches.
• Custom championships can now be used for offline play.
• New Double-Booking: Players can now have a Superstar cut a promo and still be put in a match - costing more stamina.
• New Invasion Promos: You can send a star to attack an opposing brand in an attempt to steal some of their fans. The amount of fans stolen is based on superstars promo skills.
• New Mid-Season Push: After week 25 of each season, each brand will have the chance to select up to 6 superstars from their roster to boost both their stamina and morale.
• There are 3 new GMs: Bobby Heenan, Stacy Keibler, and the Anonymous General Manager for a full GM roster of 20 GMs.

Universe Mode

In Universe, WWE 2K’s popular sandbox mode, where players control feuds, storylines, and match outcomes, several new additions add to the customization and control players experience as they build their own WWE Universe.

• The WWE Draft makes its debut, allowing players to trade Superstars between their different show rosters over an entire week.
• The new Universe Wizard allows players to choose which weekly shows and PLEs will be featured, assign Superstars for each show, as well as their champions, and then decide which month the calendar will start on.
• Other new introductions include new Watch Show mode, improved Money in the Bank cash-ins, and additional Promo types.

MyRISE Mode

New Theme, Increased Replay Value: Players define their MyRise journey through two new division-based storylines where villainous or heroic decisions impact the story like never before.

Players can now keep playing even after the main stories are complete, with more unlockable content and achievements to earn for increased replayability.

• The story is named "The Comeback" and you will play as ‘The Archetype’ returning to WWE after a hiatus
• Two new division-based branching storylines across men’s and women’s divisions
• Many unlockables inluding 2003 CM Punk with AFI's Miseria Cantare, Polka Dot Dusty Rhodes, and more.
• Major final decision that will set you up for new game plus material. Defend the championship, or if you lose, continue to compete in RISE matches to attempt to regain the title.
• Main antagonists: Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, Jordynne Grace
• MyRISE Live Event system now has a new structure called RISE Matches Rather than functioning as bonus content, RISE Matches are now fully integrated into the main progression path. Completing RISE Matches will advance The Archetype’s career and provide rewards, with performance tracked through match star ratings.

Creation Suite

2X the CAS and Image Slots, Plus Body Morphing: The best-in-class customization mode now offers 200 Create-A-Superstar save slots, doubling the existing count in response to community demand.

• The number of Create-A Superstar slots has been doubled to 200,
• The number of Create-An-Image slots has been doubled to 2,000.
• Body morphing is now available to allow players to mix and match body parts for unusual and amusing appearances
• New two-tone hair color blending offers an additional outlet for players’ creative imaginations.
• Create-an-Arena now supports LED barricades, while the customization options for ring aprons and announce tables have been increased.
• Advanced timeline feature for all entrance motions, inclusive of champion, double champion, MITB, and teams, has been added. You can also build custom entrances for 4-person and 5-person stables.

The Island

New Storyline and Environment, Available on All Platforms: 2K’s WWE-themed world is now bigger and more social than ever, and available for the first time on PC. Players will choose one of three factions and battle for control with a revamped progression system.

The new Scrapyard Brawl environment, fresh Towers, new shops and branded gear, an expanded MySUPERSTAR builder with face-photo importing, plus upgraded quests, complete with Superstar voiceovers, cutscenes and dialogue screens, enhance the immersive experience.

MyFACTION

Chemistry is Key: The collectible card-battle mode is back with new intergender lineups and Quick Swap matches. Players collect new card designs and boost their performance with the new Faction Chemistry and run-in support. New themed card packs and goals will continue to roll out regularly throughout the year with seasonal content refreshes.

• Intergender lineups and matches are now supported in MyFACTION
• NEW Team Chemistry system. The number of positive and negative faction reactions in any given lineup determines a team’s Chemistry Score. A team’s Manager can also help reduce negative chemistry from a specific parameter. There are 60 traits across 10 different categories, with half of them providing positive effects, and the other half will have a negative effect.
• NEW QuickSwap Matches. In these matches, you'll have the ability to swap from one superstar to another mid-match. Players can hit the right trigger and left bumper to swap to another superstar.
• World Tour is also making its return, offering up different types of rewards, such as Personas, MFP, Arc Cards, and MyFACTION packs. Available locations: North America, UK, Japan, Africa, Mexico!
• Faction Wars is back in MyFACTION with an updated progression system. At the beginning, players will have their card randomly drawn from the new Crowd’s Deck. As players progress through multiple runs in FW, more decks will open up, which will improve the cards available from the pool.

Ringside Passes

DLC Gets an Upgrade with More Post-Launch Content Than Ever Before: The all-new Ringside Pass in WWE 2K26 offers players additional incentive to play, earning XP across all game modes.

Each Ringside Pass features 120 total rewards across 40 free tiers and 40 premium tiers, including DLC Superstars, Legends, Personas, cosmetic and customization items, VC, MyFACTION Packs, The Island content, and more.

The Ringside Pass Premium replaces the previous DLC model. Six Ringside Pass Seasons are planned to roll out throughout the year, with Ringside Pass Season 1 available at launch and featuring  WWE Legends, previously unlockable via the in-game store, on the free tier.

WWE 2K26 Gameplay Upgrades

The following are additional gameplay improvements announced for WWE 2K26:

• Revamp of the Reversals and Stamina system. Your stamina bar now affects your ability to reverse. If it's empty, you won’t be able to reverse.
• Upgraded physics interactions make the action feel more dynamic and dangerous. Superstars will more naturally fall off elevated surfaces and interact more realistically with foreign objects such as steel steps, tables, ladders, chairs, etc.
• Crowd combat has expanded to more match types. Superstars can also now battle it out on top of the barricade using strikes and grapples, setting up more options for barricade dives.
• New usable weapons:
  • The shopping cart has been added as a weapon. Opponents can be dragged into the cart, whipped into it, struck with weapons while trapped inside, or pushed around the environment.
  • Thumbtacks have been added as a weapon. Their only previous appearance in the main series was in the Nintendo Wii version of WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2009, and they also appeared in Legends of WrestleMania (2009).
  • The ability to stack tables on top of each other has returned.
  • During Championship matches, a pedestal has been added ringside with the Championship on top that you can grab and use as a weapon.
• New Start of Match Actions system. Superstars can set the tone of the match before it even starts through a variety of options:
  • Play to the crowd
  • Offer a handshake
  • Engage in chain wrestling
  • Trade blows
  • Launch a surprise attack
• New AI Sequences system in Create-A-Moveset allows players to define specific move chains that AI Superstars will attempt to execute during a match. Created and edited in Create-A-Moveset, these sequences influence AI strategy and attack selection, making matches feel more deliberate and authentic.
• Interactive Entrances now give players control over key gestures, taunts, and pyro moments.
• Refreshed commentary team featuring Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, Booker T, and Wade Barrett to add more personality to each match you play.
• Motion-Based Nintendo Switch 2 Features: WWE 2K26 on Switch 2 offers additional features through its unique hardware, including touchscreen and mouse support. Plus, GameShare and GameChat, support for single Joy-Con gameplay, and the ability to use mouse controls in Creation Suite for face and body painting. It will also now support Image Uploader and cross-platform Community Creations.
