Giant Gram 2000: All-Japan Pro Wrestling 3 is a Sports game, developed by Scarab and published by Sega, which was released in Japan in 2000. The game features 45 wrestlers.

Game Modes

  • ARCADE pits you and/or a tag partner against 8 opponents/teams. Your goal is to not only beat your opponents, but gain as many fans as you can.
  • HISTORY replaces the Tournament mode and lets players re-enact the greatest matches in All Japan's history. Think of this as a Showcase mode, but more move-precise, and also demanding enough fans to progress through the mode. After completing a match, pressing Y will show a short highlight reel of the completed match.
  • VS is expanded in this title. Besides the standard Single & Tag matches, One Night Tournament (up to 8 players), Champion Carnival (Solo League, up to 8 players), and The World's Strongest Tag Team (Tag League, up to 8 teams) have been added.
  • EDIT allows you to create your own wrestlers and train them.
  • PRACTICE allows you to select a wrestler and practice their move-set.
  • BACKUP is there as the game DOES NOT auto-load your previous saved progress & options. You can save (option 1) or load (option 2) your progress & options here.
  • OPTIONS lets you adjust the difficulty of the game, the stamina level for all four players, whether the stamina gauge and reversal point can either be displayed or hidden, adjust the time limit, adjust the screen, turn vibration on or off, whether either 3 Pinfall Mode and All Japan mode can be turned on or off, adjust the sound (audio, sound test, and volume), and adjust your controller key assignments from 3 pre-set choices.

HISTORY MODE

This is the major mode of the game besides the Arcade mode, allowing players to relive AJPW's greatest matches throughout the promotion's history. You'll start with Round 1, where you play with the winners of the matches, performing at least 80% of the moves that they used in the match whilst gaining a specific number of fans. Completing this round unlocks Round 2, as well as All Japan Mode, and 3 Falls Mode in the Options. Round 2 lets you play with the wrestlers who didn't win the matches, performing at least 90% of the moves they used, whilst also gaining a specific number of fans. This, and Arcade will unlock additional wrestlers & options in the game once certain objectives have been fulfilled.

  1. GIANT BABA vs. STAN HANSEN - February 4th, 1982 (New Year Giant Series - Day 29)
This is Stan's first AJPW match ever since he left New Japan Pro Wrestling. The switch from NJPW to AJPW was big news back then in the country. This was for the PWF Heavyweight Championship, and it ended with a double disqualification.
  2. JUMBO TSURUTA & GIANT BABA vs. STAN HANSEN & BRUISER BRODY - April 20th, 1982 (Grand Champion Series - Day 4)
Back then, this was the biggest AJPW tag match ever conceived, pitting two of the promotion's most popular wrestlers against two of the most respected gaijins. This was for the NWA International Tag Team Championships, and it ended with a double countout.
  3. JUMBO TSURUTA vs. STAN HANSEN - April 18th, 1989 (Champion Carnival '89 - Day 20)
NWF Heavyweight Champion Tsuruta fought NWA United National, and PWF Heavyweight Champion Hansen in a winner-takes-all bout at the Budokan. The winner would unify the three belts, and create what's now known as the Triple Crown Championship.
  4. MITSUHARU MISAWA vs. JUMBO TSURUTA - June 8th, 1990 (Super Power Series '90 - Day 19)
It was youngster vs veteran in a "passing of the torch" moment; as the soon-to-be "new hero" looked to defeat the first Triple Crown champion in this bout.
  5. MITSUHARU MISAWA vs. STAN HANSEN - August 22nd, 1992 (Summer Action Series II '92 - Day 3)
These two rivals look to settle their trilogy of bouts on this night. This was for the biggest prize in the promotion's history: The Triple Crown Championship!
  6. MITSUHARU MISAWA & KENTA KOBASHI vs. TOSHIAKI KAWADA & AKIRA TAUE - December 9th, 1995 (Budokan Show #53: Real World Tag League - Day 16)
These dominant heavyweights of the 90s with 12 Triple Crown title reigns between them fought at this point for the ninth time. This was the Real World Tag League '95 Finals, and the ninth clash of the "Four Pillars of Heaven".
  7. TOSHIAKI KAWADA vs. MITSUHARU MISAWA - January 22nd, 1999 (New Year Giant Series - Day 16)
This is the infamous "Kawada Driver" match for the Triple Crown Championship which also involved one of the most brutal moves in professional wrestling, and even a broken arm!
  8. MITSUHARU MISAWA vs. VADER - May 2nd, 1999 (Giant Baba Memorial Show)
This was the main event of the 2nd All Japan show at the Tokyo Dome. Less than 8 months ago, Vader made his AJPW debut and tore through the ranks, even winning the vacant Triple Crown Title against Akira Taue. This bout was for the Triple Crown Championship, and Misawa needed to channel the spirit of the late Giant Baba (who passed away at the start of the year) to survive against "The Mastodon"!
  9. JUN AKIYAMA vs. TAKAO OMORI - September 4th, 1999 (Budokan Show #79: Summer Action Series II - Day 11)
For the first time since Misawa's Triple Crown Title win back in 1992, a Budokan show was headlined by someone other than the company's "Four Pillars of Heaven" (Misawa, Kawada, Kobashi & Taue) or a huge gaijin (Vader, Hansen, or Williams)! The matches for this event were all decided by fan balloting, this match was given the main event spot.
  10. KENTA KOBASHI & JUN AKIYAMA vs. TAKAO OMORI & YOSHIHIRO TAKAYAMA - October 30th, 1999 (Budokan Show #80: October Giant Series - Day 17)
These two teams fought in a AJPW World Tag Team Championship match that won Tokyo Sports' "1999 Tag Match of the Year" award.
  11. JUN AKIYAMA vs. MITSUHARU MISAWA - February 27th, 2000 (Budokan Show #82: Excite Series - Day 11)
This time, Misawa was the veteran, as he fought the youngster Akiyama in another "passing of the torch".
  12. KENTA KOBASHI vs. VADER - February 27th, 2000 (Budokan Show #82: Excite Series - Day 11)
The feud between Vader & Kobashi was no doubt, fierce! So fierce, that Kobashi was once sent to the hospital by his arch rival! This was the final chapter of their vicious rivalry, and the Triple Crown Championship was up for grabs!
