Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling is a Major and Hardcore pro wrestling promotion based in Tokyo, Japan.
The FMW promotion was founded on July 28, 1989 by Atsushi Onita.
Known for its hardcore wrestling style, FMW featured matches involving weapons like barbed wire and fire, with its first show held on October 6, 1989. In the late 1990s, FMW briefly collaborated with Extreme Championship Wrestling and had DVDs released in the U.S. by Tokyopop.
In 2015, FMW was revived as Chō Sentō Puroresu FMW but ceased holding events after 2018. In 2021, Onita launched Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling-Explosion (FMW-E), focusing on exploding death matches. The promotion was featured in the third season of Vice TV's docuseries Dark Side of the Ring in September 2021.
