Update: Marcus Stephenson has clarified in further tweets that from now on they will be just deleting Chris Benoit content off of WWE 2K15 and not banning players.
Just a word of warning to owners of WWE 2K15, don’t try and create Chris Benoit in the game as you could see yourself getting banned.
A Twitter user wanted to know why his account got banned from WWE 2K15. He never received a proper answer, until Marcus Stephenson (the Community Manager) finally answered him. Stephenson revealed on Twitter that this person got banned from WWE 2K15 simply because he uploaded “a Chris Benoit face to community creations.”
In further tweets, Stephenson mentioned WWE 2K15 is still a “WWE” product and they have to bide by their rules. He advises other people should never create anything related to Chris Benoit ever again to avoid getting banned.
You can however still create other non-controversial characters in WWE 2K15. TNA wrestlers are okay as well as other characters from TV Shows/Movies etc. Only things like Chris Benoit and obscene images are not allowed to be seen in the game.
If you don’t know who Chris Benoit is, he used to be a wrestler in the WWE until he murdered his son, wife and himself on a tragic day in June 2007. Ever since that incident, WWE has tried to never speak of him ever again.
WWE 2K15 owners should try to be on the safe side when creating wrestlers in the game and don’t upload anything related to Chris Benoit.
