Michinoku Pro Wrestling is a Indie pro wrestling promotion based in Morioka, Iwate, Japan.
The MICHINOKU promotion was founded on October 1, 1992 by The Great Sasuke.
An independent promotion unique in Japan for not being based in Tokyo, but rather in Iwate Prefecture in the North of the country. Michinoku Pro was founded in 1993 by the Great Sasuke, a pioneer in Japanese junior heavyweight wrestling and lucharesu, and from 1993 to 1997 was a premier promotion for this kind of wrestling.
Once most of its top stars left, and the Great Sasuke entered the political field, Jinsei Shinzaki (known in WWE as Hakushi) took up the mantle as promoter and to this day holds regional shows in Iwate.
