NWA Wildside was a Indie and Developmental pro wrestling promotion based in Cornelia, Georgia, USA, operating at a State level.
The NWA WILDSIDE promotion was founded on October 1, 1998 by Bill Behrens, and it ceased operations on April 30, 2005.
Emerging out of a merger between indie promotion named National Championship Wrestling and NWA Georgia, NWA Wildside was a prominent fixture in Georgia’s wrestling scene, and the bearer of the Georgia territorial claim after WCW left years prior.
Despite this, WCW consulted the company as their premier developmental territory, sending various Power Plant trainees throughout 2000-01. Wildside would outlive WCW, and would even pick up a television contract, becoming one of the United States’ most widely broadcast companies in 2002. Wildside would feature numerous indie names of the time, from AJ Styles to Hernandez.
In April 2005, NWA Wildside would shut down, when owner Bill Behrens began working for WWE. For much of the 2000s, the company was a crucial piece of the lingering NWA territorial system.
