Texas Wrestling Entertainment was a Developmental pro wrestling promotion based in San Antonio, Texas, USA, operating at a State level.
The TEXAS WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT promotion was founded on April 2, 1999 by Shawn Michaels, José Lothario, Rudy Boy Gonzalez, & Ken Johnson, and it ceased operations on April 2, 2017.
A promotion based out of Shawn Michaels’ training school, opened during his first retirement from wrestling between 1998 and 2002, the Texas Wrestling Alliance (TWA) would be a developmental company for various indie stars of the time.
For about 1 year, the TWA produced a handful of wrestling shows, notably an event titled Total Impact which featured a match in 2000 with none other than Shawn Michaels himself. Upon signing a contract with the WWF, Michaels would leave the company in hands of Rudy Boy Gonzalez. After various name changes throughout the years, from Extreme Texas Wrestling to NWA Bodyslam, TWE is more or less inactive today, but remains operating as a wrestling school.
