The Asia Tag Team Championship was contested in New Japan Pro Wrestling, by men wrestlers.

The championship was first established on October 4, 1976, and the inaugural champions were Strong Kobayashi & Seiji Sakaguchi.

The Asia Tag Team Championship was retired on April 23, 1981, with the final champions being Tiger Jeet Singh.

A similar championship, the IWGP Tag Team Championship, has been later introduced, which does not share the lineage with this title.
