News & Updates

Once again we wrestling game fans are still waiting for new solid information about WWE 2K22 as most of the details talked about have either been just pure speculation or things that will have already been seen in prior games.

This week, we have heard some details about this year's game from the well-known journalist Brian Mazique who is best remembered for covering the WWE and NBA 2K series who supposedly revealed some new details about WWE 2K22 during one of his recent live streams which include the game's roster, reactions of gameplay from 2K and what he calls a brand new game mode in development.

So in this article, we will be going over all of the details he talked about during the livestream however while Brian does say that all of these details are fact, none of these details have been confirmed by 2K or Visual Concepts at the moment.

WWE 2K22's Roster Deadline

One thing that wrestling fans have been concerned about is the WWE 2K22 Roster, as it seems like every week WWE is releasing more and more people from their roster with people wondering how big is this year's roster going to be.

However, during the livestream Brian did bring up this issue and reassured fans that there is a certain deadline from the yearly game's roster and once it is passed, nobody else can be taken out or added in however he did mention that the only way that a superstar can be removed after the deadline is by a special request from WWE themselves.

At the moment according to reports, there is only 1 superstar that WWE has asked to be pulled from 2K22 and that is Daniel Bryan since his contract expired in April and is rumored to jump ship to AEW later in the year.

Unlike the other details that were brought up in the live stream, this one does actually have some weight behind it as during the initial behind the scenes footage videos on the WWE2KDev YouTube Channel, WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair was shown in those videos however at the beginning of this month, he was granted his release from WWE but he will still be in 2K22 until by the request of WWE.

So from these details, that is still a good chance of the majority of the superstars released this year will be in 2K22 regardless.

WWE 2K22's "Fantastic Gameplay"

Wrestling game fans have also been waiting for the reveal of a proper gameplay trailer which would really help 2K attempt to gain the fanbase after the events of 2K20 however currently 2K have remained quiet about the so-called improved gameplay.

Brian stated during the stream that he has heard from representations from 2K that have played the current build of 2K22 and its gameplay "Fantastic" and the new controls were cleaner than they could ever be with the representation supposedly saying that "This year's game is a wrestling fans' game."

However this should be taken with a pinch of salt as obviously at this point, no one in 2K would say anything negative about the gameplay and the response is as vague as they can make it so we will just need to wait and see when the gameplay trailer eventually is shown off.

Huge New Game Mode Coming?

Finally, to end this article, we have the speculation of a brand new game mode in development by Visual Concepts by Brian during the video which he called "My Faction" while not talking about any further details about this so-called brand new huge game mode.

Brian does however say that this game mode is similar to the NBA 2K series' "My Team" feature where players spend virtual points to open up card packs for the chance of receiving their favorite basketball players to build the best team that they can.

If this is true, this new mode would be similar to WWE's popular mobile game WWE Supercard and could be a good way to spice up the game after no really revolutionary game modes have been added for the last few years.

However, at no point did Brian say that My Faction is in development for WWE 2K22 so this may be something that we see implemented in a future title.

Here is the video of Brian's livestream for anyone who wants to see it for themselves.

(WWE 2K22 part starts around the 16-minute mark).

Many people are still waiting for new information on WWE 2K22 as 2K has mostly stayed quiet about gameplay or roster reveals.

However this week there has been some new information about 2K22 that was hinted at by the parent company of 2K (Take-Two Interactive) during their quarterly earnings call to their investors.

So in this article, we will be going over all of the hinted details and rumored features from Take-Two's earnings call.

WWE 2K22's Fresh Approach

During the earning call Take Two's President Karl Slatoff said the following: "During Fiscal 2022, WWE 2K22 will mark the rebirth of our popular wrestling series."

"We are very excited about the team's fresh approach to the franchise, including an array of enhancements and new features."

"2K and Visual Concepts have shared a series of behind-the-scenes videos of their work on WWE 2K22, including entrance and move animations, as well as motion capture and facial scanning, with much more to come."

The majority of information said during the earning call does link up with what was said by Michael Cole on Smackdown where the game would have a rebuilt engine, a smoother control scheme, and better overall gameplay.

Another thing to note is the hinted fresh approach to the series, which could prove interesting especially it seems like for the last few years the 2K WWE Games have largely felt the same every year.

It could possibly we could see some bigger changes to the game, which would explain 2K22's tagline (It Hits Different) however this would contradict everything that we have seen so far as it looks similar to prior years.

WWE 2K22's Release Date Update

There was also an updated screenshot released on social media showing off 2K and Take Two's future releases with WWE 2K22 was in that list and is scheduled for a Fiscal 2022 release.

This news did have fans worried that 2K22 was going to be delayed until 2022 however that is not the case as the Fiscal 2022 runs from the 1st of April 2021 until next year on the 31st of March 2022 which is the common time frame that the game is set to release in.

However during the earning call, there was talk about two of 2K's projects being delayed but currently, we don't know which of these games are.

What we do know at the moment is 4 games have been listed by Take-Two as "Immersive Core" games.

The games on this list are NBA 2K22, WWE 2K22, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, and one unannounced project.

From this list, it seems highly unlikely that NBA 2K22  is one of those games since it has only recently been announced for the 10th of September

By process of elimination, this would leave WWE 2K22, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, or the unannounced game as the ones to be possibly delayed but whichever games they are will only be pushed back further into Fiscal 2022.

To try and get further information about the delays, Sean Ross from Fightful.com reached out to 2K however they replied back saying that there had no information to share at the current time.

While we still don't have any new information about 2K22's release date apart from that it will be released between April 2021 to March 2022, we should find out more details in the coming weeks as this year's game is sponsoring Summerslam in two weeks time.

Possible 2K Battlegrounds Sequel

Another interesting thing shown during Take-Two's earnings call is that 2K currently have 3 mid-core sports games in development.

When looking at 2K's recent catalog in the genre one of these games could be NBA Playgrounds 3 with another one being an NFL game as 2K signs a deal to make non-simulation games for the NFL.

Thinking about the third mid-core game with the other sports games that are published by 2K are WWE and PGA.

This may either hint at a PGA Playgrounds type of game or perhaps it could be a possible sequel to WWE 2K Battlegrounds with all of the games being pure speculation.

One of the games that wrestling game fans are waiting for more information on is WWE 2K22 to see if 2K can right the wrong that was 2K20.

Last week some new details were revealed by Michael Cole on Friday Night SmackDown, so in this article we will be going over all of those new details.

New Rebuilt Engine

One of the details was the announcement of a newly rebuilt engine for the game since before 2K20 was released, Yukes had left the partnership with Visual Concepts to develop the games.

This could be a good indication that the in game engine that has been used since SmackDown 1 on the original PlayStation could get some overdue updates.

If we look at the 2K22 trailer at Wrestlemania and compare the 619 animation from 2K20 to 2K22, there is no real difference between each other.

While the moves and animations will look mostly the same when comparing engines, by rebuilding and recoding the engine, this means that the game could have a better frame rate, loading times and have some graphical improvements.

Another thing that 2K can do by rebuilding the engine is remove past limitations such as with older moves being removed for newer moves.

This can also be backed up by WWE 2K's Executive Producer Patrick Gillmore commented on Twitter that the team have been able to record over 4800 animations this year which were more then 1000 the prior years.

Smoother Control Scheme

With an additional year and a half to work on 2K22, the team can also look at ways to improve the control scheme of the game.

However one of the selling points of 2K20 was the improved control scheme which turned out to just be button swaps but they could be set for a complete overhaul this year.

New Superstar Teases Inclusion

Finally while we haven't received any news about any roster reveals apart from superstars seen in the behind the scenes series and Bayley by Patrick Gillmore on Twitter, another superstar may have said about this year's game being their playable debut.

That superstar would be current signed Raw Superstar Angel Garza as while replying to a fan's question on Twitter of why he wasn't in last year's game, he said it was because he would be in the upcoming one.

However after that he backpedalled by saying that he thinks he will be.

One of the games wrestling fans have been looking forward to is The Wrestling Code with the game having quite a stacked and diverse roster of talent from Kurt Angle to Simon Miller.

Most of these stars have been shown off via The Wrestling Code's Twitter Account over the past few months. But over the weekend we got the second episode of Wrestling Code alpha footage which revealed a new star that the fans were speculating for a while.

Wrestling Code New Star Revealed and Promo Trailer

The new star shown in the trailer turned out to be former WWE Superstar Muhammad Hassan who hasn't been in a wrestling video game since Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 back in 2005.

The trailer sees Hassan cutting a promo in the desert which has some references to his write-off at The Great American Bash 2005 like how he did everything he was told by the higher-ups and that he faced 16 years of exile since then.

Wrestling Code New Finisher Shown Off

During the video, we can see the first showing of a finisher used in Virtual Basement's engine as Hassan is shown applying his finisher (The Camel Clutch) to who appears to be Scott Steiner.

Wrestling Code Promo Behind The Scenes Images

Finally, to end, along with the new trailer, Virtual Basement also uploaded some images of Hassan in the mocap suit and a short video of him recording the promo from a local hotel room in New York.

Here is the Trailer for anyone interested in taking a look for themselves.

What do you guys think of Hassan's inclusion in The Wrestling Code?

For us wrestling fans, one of the games we have been waiting for more details of how it will hit different in WWE 2K22 especially after the utter dumpster fire that was 2K20.

However, while we have seen some behind the scenes footage of new moves and updated victory motions, everything else we have seen has either been in the prior games or too generic.

But over the weekend, we learned about some new information where 2K could redeem themselves soon and this is what we will be talking about today.

WWE 2K22 Possible New Gameplay Trailer Showing

People who watched Money in The Bank over the weekend may have noticed something during the promo for Summerslam.

This was by looking in the top right corner where the event's date was shown, you would have seen the new logo that was just updated for WWE 2K22.

It gives us wrestling fans a good indication that 2K will have some more details for WWE 2K22 during the Summerslam event, which could be anything from a gameplay trailer to a possible roster reveal and cover star.

This also could be a good chance for 2K to restore some hope with the wrestling games fanbase that WWE 2K22 will indeed hit different this year.

WWE 2K22 Release Date Announcement

Something that may come to the possible reveal at Summerslam is WWE 2K22's Release Date.

But 2K could also plan something and may possibly give 2K22 an earlier release date since over the last few years the yearly game would usually sponsor the WWE PPV in October which has been when the game is released around.

What do you guys think we will see for the reveal from 2K at Summerslam?

This week All Elite Wrestling has announced the release date for their mobile game (AEW Elite GM) along with releasing a gameplay trailer featuring some of the company's biggest stars.

The Elite GM will be the second game released by AEW Games for IOS and Android devices and developed by the same people who made the AEW Casino Double Or Nothing mobile game (Crystallised Games), where the player will be able to run and book their own wrestling show with them able to take the fight to other players online for the superior booked show.

AEW Elite GM Release Date

On Tuesday the AEW Games Twitter Account revealed that the AEW Elite GM would be available to download on July 15th on IOS and Android Devices.

The AEW Elite General Manager game comes out on July 15th for IOS and Android Devices.

This week more news has come out regarding WWE 2K22 with a new logo design being revealed and 2 legends could have been possibly leaked for the game as well.

WWE 2K22 Updated Logo

So far the WWE 2K22 logo has been pretty basic with the first version being a stacked logo and the second logo was closer to the updated one however the WWE logo was much smaller on the second one.

The Updated Logo can be seen as this article front image as well.

WWE 2K22 New Stars Leaked

Along with the new logo design being shown off on the updated website for 2K22, the game trademarks have also been added with 2 familiar names being in there as well.

These Legends and Hall of Famers in the trademarks are Andre The  Giant and The Macho Man Randy Savage as both of these names are licensed under CMG Brands, LLC.

Seeing these legends mentioned in the trademarks does give us a good indication that they will be in 2K22 as part of the game's legends roster, however, we will still need to wait for an official confirmation from 2K themselves to be sure.

On the latest episode of the AEW Games 2.Show, Allie Bunny and Aubrey Edwards revealed the sneak peek of the first AEW console gameplay footage for the upcoming AEW console game developed by Yuke's, including the first look at Darby Allin's character model. They also discussed the recent AEW Elite GM beta.

AEW's Darby Allin's Character Model

From what we can see by looking at the first AEW console gameplay footage, we notice that the cartoony character style that was showcased in the first teaser trailer appears to be toned down a bit.

Darby Allin's character model definitely appears more realistic compared to the originally exaggerated models of Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega. So we can assume that AEW and Yuke's decided to scale back on the cartoony aspect of the design after it was not received too greatly by the fans.

The style now seems to be a happy medium between realistic and arcade.

{igallery id=7634|cid=204|pid=32|type=category|children=1|showmenu=0|tags=DarbyAllinModel|limit=0}

First AEW Console Gameplay Footage

When it comes to the gameplay itself, we see Darby Allin performing a punch, a Dropsault, and his signature Coffin Drop on the returning "Green Moveset Man" (from the Smackdown vs. Raw series), inside the AEW Dynamite Arena.

The animations of the moves seem fast and snappy, although many fans have pointed out that they look very similar to what we're currently used to on the WWE 2K series. After all, Yuke's was the original developer of many of those animations when they worked on the WWE Games series, so them re-using some assets can be expected.

However, it's logical that the community is expecting something new from the gameplay of the AEW Console game, to spice things up and play something that feels different compared to the WWE 2K series.

It's important to note that the video clearly states that the "footage captured from the game is still in development", so everything is still a work in progress, and there is still plenty to wonder about what the final gameplay of the AEW Console game will feel like once it's fully developed.

AEW Game Ring Size & Camera Angle

Something else that we noticed, we can see that Yuke's appears to be using the larger version of the ring they used to have on the PS3/360 era of WWE videogames, with the ropes being lower compared to the actual wrestling ring.

The ring height was corrected in WWE Games when it made the jump to PS4 and Xbox One with WWE 2K15. However, Yuke's has now gone back to use their differently-sized ring for the AEW Console game.

This is also probably the reason why Darby Allin's hands seem to not be properly placed on the ropes when he's going for a Springboard Dive. It's possible that the animation was not yet adapted for the height of the ropes that Yuke's is using now.

We also notice that the main camera angle is pointing at the stage, similarly to the classic SmackDown! Here Comes The Pain, instead of at the crowd as it's been with the latest WWE Games.

And stay tuned on The SmackDown Hotel as we will keep you updated with any new information released on the AEW Games in the future.

Just yesterday the Official WWE 2K Dev Youtube Channel released a new video in the 2K22 Dev Diaries Series which shows off some of the new entrance and victory animations for WWE 2K22.

So is this article we will be going over all of the video's entrance and victory motions and who we believe that they belong to.

New Entrance and Victory Animations

Here is a list of all of the video's shown animations and who they may be for.

  • Entrance Motion 1 (Bobby Lashley)
  • Entrance Motion 2 (Roman or Jey Uso?)
  • Entrance Motion 3 (Braun Strowman)
  • Entrance Motion 4 (Randy Orton)
  • Entrance Motion 5 (The Miz Retro)
  • Entrance Motion 6 (Bobby Lashley from the Turnbuckle)

Noticeable Motions in the Video

There are two motions during the video that raise some questions with the first one being the retro Miz motion as there may also be a retro Morrison motion as well since John Morrison came back to WWE last year.

However, the more concerning victory motion is that of Braun Strowman since he along with 5 other superstars were released 2 weeks ago so with this motion being included in the video so this is a good indication of Strowman still being in the game if he has a significant role in either Career or Showcase mode.

However, there is a chance that the other 5 superstars who were released as well may be in the game since they were all released so recently.

Other Things Seen in The Video

As from other things noticed during the video, most of the motions use the new shaky camera in some of the shots, which seems like a step in the right direction to make the game more realistic.

Also seen during the victory motions is more of the Thunderdome Arena used currently on WWE TV however it isn't fully completed as some of the lighting rigs are just floating in the air without being attached to anything.

The final thing of note to mention is that when viewing some of the victory motions, we can see the in-game models of the commentary team of Michael Cole, Corey Graves, and Byron Saxton which don't seem to have been updated but future videos 2K may update their character models.

Here is the Entrance Animations video for anyone interested in taking a look for themselves.

Considering WWE 2K Games always aimed to make bigger rosters every year it's fair to assume we might get it once again. We already have 6 confirmed superstars, not all might be playable like Booker T or Ric Flair, but it is more likely they will be. I have divided this list into various sections with a current roster that is most likely to make the cut, some less likely superstars from NXT and NXT UK, and the list of superstars that could possibly be scanned in the past and might just make the game, but the chances are slim. Here are our WWE 2K22 Roster Predictions.

I have also added a section with people that almost definitely will not make the game like Sting or CM Punk, but it would be rude to ignore them completely. These are only my own, personal predictions and apart from 5 confirmed stars we do not know anything at the time of writing this article, but we can safely assume that some stars will definitely be in the game.

WWE 2K22 will be the first game with a one-year gap in development. The expectations are huge, and what is the better way to please the fans than with the biggest roster up to date. I personally would love the game to be focused more on new and upcoming talent from NXT and NXT UK instead of the legends, due to several reasons. Many young people play video games and not everyone is familiar with all of the legends from the old days.

It would also be much easier in recreating moves and scanning faces of younger stars than making scans of older people to look younger. It is a much harder job, and the game’s overall quality would benefit from having most of the superstars scanned from the scratch.

One of the important notes to make is that depending on what the developers will do with the Community Creations we might not need every superstar to be in the game. With improved tools, and possibly some cross-platform CAWs, as well as custom songs [purely speculating] we might be able to create literally anyone we dream of in the game and share it with other fans. I hope we will get as many moves and new animations as possible, and even if some of the stars will not make the roster, their moves will be included to choose and assign in the creation process. I really have high hopes for the game, but feeling worse and worse with more WWE Releases sadly.

Be sure to check our WWE 2K22 Roster page for all of the updates on this year's roster.

WWE 2K22 is scheduled to release sometime in late 2021.

WWE 2K22 is a long-awaited game in the WWE Games franchise that could bring fans back into playing the series for several months. We now got an update with some WWE 2K22 new moves and animations. See the full list down below.

WWE 2K22 Developer Update [May 24, 2021]

On May 24th, 2021 we saw another episode of WWE 2K Developers Update. This time we have seen Behind The Scenes: Motion Capture. We were able to see several new moves and animations that will make their way into the game. Additionally, Patrick Gilmore [WWE 2K Executive Producer] has confirmed on his official Twitter account some more information.

The moves were shot at the brand new, state of art Motion Capture Facility. The stage is supposed to be 2 times bigger than the previous one, which means they had more freedom in capturing big moves and entrances, as well as longer and more interesting cutscenes for various modes both in and out of the ring. Patrick Gilmore has confirmed that they captured over 4800 new animations, and are not finished yet, so we might easily get over 5000 new animations in total for WWE 2K22.

He also referenced the bug that could be found in WWE 2K20 with several animations being speedup. It was something that annoyed me pretty much because it was breaking my immersion of trying to make a 5-star classic. It is good to know that they are aware of that, and hopefully, all the new and old animations will be adjusted to work well in the new WWE 2K22 Game.

WWE 2K22 New Moves

I will break down all the moves we have seen, and speculate who could be the person using them in the game.

  • Russian Bottom – move of Ilya Dragunov
  • Torpedo Moscow – move of Ilya Dragunov [Finisher with Taunt]
  • Death Drop Driver – move of Bronson Reed
  • Sambo Suplex – move of Walter
  • Springboard Rope DDT – move of Ruby Riott
  • Wicked Step-Sister – move of Candice LeRae [Finisher]
  • Sit-Out Axe Guillotine Driver – move of Bronson Reed
  • Monkey Flip in the Corner – move of Dexter Lumis or Kofi Kingston
  • Knee Trembler – move of William Regal, part of The Miz’s Reality Check
  • Senton Bomb – Several Possible Superstars [Dexter Lumis, Jeff Hardy, etc.]
  • Jumping Sidekick – Several Possible Superstars [Booker T, Matt Riddle, etc.]
  • Double Leg Takedown – Several Possible Superstars [Roman Reigns, Walter, etc.]
  • New Running Reversal – Looks like a reversal of some running moves like Torpedo Moscow or Running Uppercut

We see a big possibility of getting several NXT UK superstars and I am all for it. Being able to play as either Walter or Ilya Dragunov would be refreshing and could make for some intense matchups and feuds. WWE 2K22 new moves look awesome, and the more of them the better.

I personally hope for as most NXT and NXT UK superstars as possible, since they can look stunning, while several legends could not be scanned due to several reasons like not being with the company or even being passed away.

Make sure to stay up to date with our WWE 2K22 Roster page, where we will add new superstars as soon as they get confirmed.

What do you think about the WWE 2K22 Developer Update Video and all the new moves? Let us know in the comments down below!

Just yesterday the second 2K Dev Diary Episode was released on the official YouTube channel with this one going over the scanning process. So in this article, we will be going over the details from the video along with the confirmation of 2 new stars to the 2K22 roster.

New Scanning Process

To begin the official 2K Dev account revealed on Twitter that this year they have updated their scanning technology by adding 80 high-resolution cameras and having new software to map everything to a high-precision 3D sculpt.

The way that the superstars and legends are scanning for their in-game models is by having the 80 cameras all together in a circular arrangement before they are used to take pictures of the subject inside.

This is then run for specialist software to stitch those pictures together to create a high-resolution 3D sculpt of the subject as well as a 360 photo with is then mapped onto the in-game model.

Once the first scan is complete, the subject is then asked to perform various facial animations as these will be scanned as well so the specialist software is able to capture the way that the subject's  facial muscles move when that certain expression is made which helps portray this expression digitally when those expression made in the game.

New Legends Scans

As we see during this process, the superstars taking part in this scanning session are The Nature Boy Ric Flair and Booker T which gives us a good indication that these stars will receive updated models in-game.

First Scanning Superstar Confirmed

However, these guys are not the only ones as revealed by WWE 2K's Executive Producer Patrick Gillmore that 2K have been scanning stars in both the US and Europe and they haven't captured as many superstars in 5 years

He also said that to be able to scan at a moment's notice, they built a second trailer to be sent to Orlando and Tampa however they needed to test it in California before asking the fans to guess who was the first superstar for be scanned for this year's game.

Finally, Patrick then revealed that the superstar who volunteered to be scanned for the game with the new technology was none other than Former Women's Champion Bayley which should a good sign that she will also have an updated model to go along with her heel character.

What do you guys think about the latest 2K22 Behind The Scenes Video?

Just recently the official WWE 2K Dev account on YouTube and Twitter released the first 2K Dev Update video for WWE 2K22 which shows a comparison of Rey Mysterio's in the animation program and in the in game engine.

Comparing Rey's Entrance

However, when taking a closer look at Rey's entrance motion in 2K22 and seeing his entrance from 2K20, they are virtually the same with the only difference being that the 22 version is the use of different camera angles during the entrance.

Personally, this is a little disappointing especially since this year's game has the tagline "It Hits Different" that we are seeing the same entrance animation from past games along with the same 619 animation in the teaser trailer from past games as well rather than the trailer and updates showing us new things that fans would find interesting.

Something that 2K could have done is maybe shown off the entrance of a superstar set to make their playable debut in this year's game as 2K could have the dev update and have fans speculate which superstar the motion belonged to as the in-game model isn't shown.

Other Small Visual Updates

But while watching the trailer you can notice a small camera shake as the in game model enters the ring which while it is a small thing to add still adds a little more realism to the game that would be gotten by someone physically holding a camera during the entrance.

One final thing to note is at the end of the video where we see Rey's in game model on the turnbuckle, there is a shot of the in game crowd which currently hasn't been updated from 2K20 as one fan is wearing a Matt Hardy T-Shirt who was released last year.

Despite the update video's shortcomings, it is still too early to pass judgment on the game at this stage so hopefully, in the coming update videos, we will be able to see the new features that the game will have.

What do you guys think about the first 2K Dev Update Video?

While last year we didn't see many big-name wrestling games released apart from 2K Battlegrounds and a few smaller indie titles, this year fans wait in anticipation for many old and new companies to make their mark on the wrestling game scene.

However, for fans hoping that 2K will be able to make a vast improvement after 2K20 may be in luck as just last week the creative director for the WWE 2K series Lynell Jinks revealed that this year that the company would be releasing a series of diary videos that will go into the development of WWE 2K22.

Dev Update Video Diaries Return

People may also remember this series of videos when it was the spotlight series showing off the development of WWE 2K18.

We then see a preview of Rey Mysterio's entrance from the animation program and then in game with the completed motion in the in-game engine. We also see a shot of Rey's in game model like the teaser trailer shown at WrestleMania but this time it is shown from a lower angle.

During the video announcement, we also see WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair during the scanning process for the game which may lead to a new updated model in game since he was present at the 2021 Royal Rumble Event where 2K were backstage scanning some of the wrestling talents.

New Motion Capture

We then are shown some of the motion capture for the game with a Monkey Flip being performed from the corner being followed up with a Senton or a Swanton off the top rope.

Future Updates

Finally, 2K recently sent a press release regarding the Dev Update series with some of the elements they are looking to show off are character models, arena designs, motion capture, facial scanning, audio samples, material textures, and more

Today on night one of WrestleMania 37 we got our first confirmation about WWE 2K22. We saw confirmation of two superstars that will be included in the WWE 2K22 Roster: Rey Mysterio and Cesaro. The WWE 2K22 Official Announcement Trailer showed us some gameplay footage but not too much to talk about. Anyway, let's get into what we actually saw in the trailer.

WWE 2K22 Confirmations

We saw some gameplay footage of Rey Mysterio doing his finishing move the 619 to Cesaro on the ropes. The game looks pretty dope, but it does not seem to be a revolutionary installment in the game. We can hope for a lot of gameplay improvement and a more polished experience with fewer bugs and a lot more ways to enjoy the game than previously. The game’s official slogan shown in the first WWE 2K22 trailer is “It Hits Different”.

There is not much apart from the confirmation of the game being in development. Two superstars were confirmed, and the first look at the graphics. WWE 2K series always had some issues, and with a year-long gap hopefully, WWE 2K22 will be more polished and versatile than ever. Just imagine the matches we could create using our favorite superstars.

WWE2K22 Teaser 01 ReyMysterio

We saw Rey put on his mask, he had some contact lenses in his eyes. A lot of the trailer was just showing Rey Mysterio's in-game model. Then he does his finisher to Cesaro. We also see a glimpse of physics and animations in the game. They look pretty good without any glitches and pretty real. However, it is pretty obvious that you would not put any bugs in the trailer so we can start building hype, but be reasonable with it. Let's have a look at the WWE 2K22 Official Announcement Trailer down below.

Conclusion

We can expect more information coming soon as suggested by the video description. Hopefully, we will get some gameplay much earlier in the marketing process than before. We will not be sure until we see more, but it is a piece of good information for every wrestling fan that we will get a game this year. This first WWE 2K22 Trailer gives us a lot of hope.

After all, we always want the best WWE game to have fun with. Play around with our favorite superstars, create immersive storylines and just have great matches on our own at home. I personally hope for a lot of NXT superstars being included.

We can hope the game will be good, but be slow with building your hype up. I cannot wait to get more information and build my opinion about the game based on gameplay, following this first WWE 2K22 Teaser Trailer.

WWE 2K22 is scheduled to release later in 2021.
