Fighting of World Japan Pro-Wrestling was a pro wrestling promotion based in Tokyo, Japan, operating at a Regional level.
The WORLD JAPAN promotion was founded on November 1, 2002 by Riki Choshu, and it ceased operations on August 12, 2004.
World Japan was a promotion started by Riki Choshu after his firing from NJPW. As a former booker of the company throughout the 1990s, WJ had some high expectations ahead of its first show, though ultimately proving a flop due to their overreliance on aged wrestlers. After only about a year of running, WJ closed due to controversy surrounding mismanagement, profligate spending from Choshu, a failed attempt at an MMA show, and the death of a trainee. It is often hailed as one of the worst-run promotions in Japanese wrestling history.
