Jim Crockett Promotions was a Major and Territory pro wrestling promotion operating in the United States, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
The JCP promotion was founded on March 2, 1931 by Jim Crockett Sr., and it ceased operations on November 20, 1988.
Jim Crockett Promotions played a significant role in the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) throughout the latter’s existence, and was one of the two largest wrestling promotions in the U.S. during the 1980s, alongside the expanding World Wrestling Federation (now WWE).
In 1988, the Crockett family sold a majority stake to Turner Broadcasting System, leading to the creation of World Championship Wrestling (WCW).
JCP still exists today as a trademarked entity, and was notable for running the Ric Flair’s Last Match pay-per-view in 2022.
