The WWE Women's Championship is a World Title contested in World Wrestling Entertainment on the SmackDown brand, by women wrestlers.

The championship was first established on April 3, 2016, and the inaugural champion was Charlotte.

This is a newer version of the WWE Divas Championship and WWE Women's Championship ('56-'10), with its own distinct lineage.

Introduced by WWE Hall of Famer Lita on the WrestleMania 32 Kickoff, the WWE Women’s Championship ushered in a new era of female competitors who are making their mark on the sports-entertainment industry.

Along with the title's introduction came the announcement that WWE's female athletes would be known as "Superstars" - a status deserving of their history of extraordinary accomplishments.

The title was renamed the Raw Women’s Championship following the 2016 WWE Brand Extension Draft. On the June 9, 2023 edition of SmackDown, the title was reverted back to the WWE Women's Championship name.

The current champion is Bayley, who won the title at WWE WrestleMania XL on April 7, 2024, and has been reigning for 110 days.
