The WWE Divas Championship was a World Title contested in World Wrestling Entertainment, by women wrestlers.
The championship was first established on June 6, 2008, and the inaugural champion was Michelle McCool.
Since then, several Divas won the coveted butterfly, including Maryse and Melina, who each held it twice. Michelle unified the Divas Championship and the Women's Championship at Night of Champions in September 2010 when she defeated Melina with the help of Layla to become the first-ever Unified Divas Champion.
The WWE Women's Championship ('56-'10) was previously unified into this championship.
The WWE Divas Championship was retired on April 3, 2016, with the final champion being Charlotte.
A similar championship, the WWE Women's Championship, has been later introduced, which does not share the lineage with this title.
