The WWE Men's Money in the Bank is a men's pro wrestling special match type held periodically by World Wrestling Entertainment.
The competition was established on April 3, 2005, and the first edition was won by Edge / Adam Copeland , while the last edition took place on June 7, 2025 and was won by Seth Rollins .
The winner of the Money in the Bank Ladder Match obtains a briefcase that contains a contract for a WWE Championship or World Championship of his choice, which can be "cashed in" at any time and place within the next year.
The wrestler holding the briefcase is commonly referred to as "Mr. Money in the Bank"). When he decides to cash in the contract, the title match can occur even if the champion has just finished another match or is in a physically compromised state.
The "cash-in" of the briefcase is often a dramatic moment in WWE programming, allowing winners to capitalize on opportunities when champions are at their most vulnerable.
The status of Mr. Money in the Bank can also be put on the line, as has happened on two occasions so far (in one of which the original holder, Mr. Kennedy, lost his right to Edge).
