The championship was first established on December 24, 2018, and the inaugural champions were Sasha Banks & Bayley.
This is a newer version of the WWF Women's Tag Team Championship, with its own distinct lineage.
The NXT Women's Tag Team Championship was previously unified into this championship.
The current champions are the team of The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn), who won the title at WWE Clash at the Castle: Scotland on June 15, 2024, and have been reigning for 41 days.
