The WWE Tag Team Championship is contested in World Wrestling Entertainment on the SmackDown brand, by men wrestlers.
The championship was first established on August 23, 2016, and the inaugural champions were Heath Slater & Rhyno.
Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan created tandem titles for SmackDown following the 2016 Brand Extension Draft. The first champions were crowned at WWE Backlash on Sept. 11, 2016, following an intense, eight-team tournament.
The current champions are Damian Priest and R-Truth, who won the title on the episode of SmackDown on March 20, 2026, and have been reigning for 56 days (JC Mateo defended the title on behalf of Solo Sikoa.).
